The winter rain is here! :D  I really love the ambience that rain creates; it's so calm and peaceful and it almost always relaxes me.  Still, it'd be pretty cool if it would snow like it did last year.  I remember how much fun I had taking pictures of all the cactus covered in snow.  My dog really loved it too since she's part Alaskan malamute.
Oh, I also have another  WiP. ^_^

God, this is taking such a long time to finish.  Working on three pictures at once wasn't such a bright idea... I like how it's turning out though.

Here's a work in progress that I've been working on.  I like how the face came out, but I'm kind of dissapointed with the hair.

Sorry, cheri- pai, I did this before I saw your new hunter.  ^_^'  I can redo the headgears if you want.  I already tried to fix the hair, but it still looks kind of orange.  I'm sure if I tried, I could really make it look blonde though...

Piccu! )

I finally got photoshop and decided to try it out.  I think it's pretty good for a first try, even if some things are really bothering me.  I mean, at least the hair turned out all right.  Now I just need to add a backround.

Now I know better than to go out in public in my school uniform and lanyard.  I went to the bookestore and had three people mistake me for an employee before I caught on and took off my ID.

Wow, I haven't posted in a while...

Anyway, life's been going pretty good.  I ended up getting second chair, second violin in orchestra, which is kind of scary since I'm right in the middle, just like I had predicted.   I've also been improving at digital coloring, especially hair.  Too bad it takes me about three weeks for every picture.   Oh well, I guess it's worth it.

We had chair tryouts in our school orchestra today.  While I didn't totally fuck up, I did play a lot worse than I would have liked to.  Ugh, I feel a bit depressed because I practised so hard on it, but it seemed to go to waste.  Oh well, I guess I should be happy that I'm finally in an orchestra where I'm not one of the best or the worst.  Now if only the damn air conditioner would start working...

Sorry I wasn't able to post this before, it's a picture of a knight on Ragnarok.

I'll post it on my deviantart once I make a real background and fix the sword hilt.

The sculpture class turned out to be really fun.  I'm probably going to post some pictures of what I made, despite what I said earlier.  Nothing's great, but a few cups, and an elephant head look a lot better than what I normally can make.  I'd probably be better at it if I cut my fingernails so that they'd stop leaving marks in the clay where I don't want them...  I'm going to have to cut them anyway when I start my violin lessons again.
I've really missed playing Ragnarok , so I've been drawing a lot of fanart for it.  Maybe I'll finally contribute to [info]ragnarokonline.    Of course, only one of the pieces is what I'd call decent, and would even consider posting on the internet.  I probably will post it though, seeing as though it was a pain in the ass to sketch, and I might as well finish it.  I really should be working on my art skills though, so I have a new picture of a n00b mage planned out.  I'm going to try an action pose and a background, two things that most of my pictures lack.  I'm never going to be good at them if I don't draw them.

I'm taking a sculpture class near Aspen.  It feels nice being in someplace so cool.  I love the teacher, but he also got confused with color theory.  He thought that yellow and blue were compliments.  XD  I guess it's just a coincedence.  Anyway, I'll probably be too embarassed to post any pictures of my sculptures here, unless one turns out really amazing.  I don't work with clay very often, so I'm not very good at it.  I have been doing some pen drawings however, and those might be posted here.

The geckos moved out.  Hopefully to someplace that isn't going to blow away during the monsoon...

I think I'm finally getting better at coloring on the computer.  I just have to focus and really take my time.

I just recently started coloring this.  The reason the hair is so detailed is because hair is normally one of my weak points, and I'm trying to improve.  So far, I think it's helping.  I'm also happy to say that the nose, which looks horrible in the lineart, turned out to be one of the best features in color.  I'll post the finished version on my deviantart when I'm done.  It might take a while though, the hair is being a pain in the ass to color.

It's been raining a lot here lately.  That's good, because we could really use it.  Too bad my dog hates the thunder.  She hides in the closet every chance she gets.  Oh well, she'll feel better when there are lots of puddles for her to lay in on her walk.  I love the rain.

There was a storm last night.  The wind got really bad, and the geckos' blanket started blowing around.  I put rocks on the corners so it wouldn't blow away.  I really hope the geckos are okay.

I found some geckos in my backyard, under a blanket we keep out there for the dog.  I think they live there, because every time I check back on them, they're still there.  Hopefully my dog won't find them.

I just got some new acrylic paints.  I played around with them a  bit, and you can see the result on my deviantart.  It isn't that good, because I honestly don't paint very much.  Maybe about 4 times a year tops.  I'm hoping to do it more frequently though, because shaded pencil drawings are getting a bit boring.  I'm also thinking about taking an oil painting class.  I took one about 10 years ago, but I don't remember much except that they take forever to dry.  Oh well, It probably wouldn't help me to remember much anyway.  I was really bad at art back then.

This morning when I was showering, I accidently used a volumizing shampoo.  If there's one thing my hair does not need, it's volumizing.  So now my hairs all weird and poofy looking.  It actually doesn't look too bad, I'm just hoping it's not a pain in the ass to brush out.  Sometimes I hate having thick hair.

Even though I used way too much black, I still like it.  The shading could use some work though.  It was hard because my fingers got so dirty from the pastels, and I didn't have a paper towel or anything else to blend with.  That's partly why my paper looks so smudgey.  Sometimes I wish chalk pastels came in pencil form, like charcoal...

I just started taking a new art class.  It's pretty cool, but there's one thing that bothers me about it.  One of the teachers honestly thought that blue and red were complimentary colors.  It kind of made me wonder if she even knows what she's talking about.  At least the other teachers seem to be pretty knowladgeable.

I'm on vacation right now.  The hotels are pretty nice, especially for a small own, but overall, it's kind of boring here.  At least it's pretty.  I had a great time watching the birds last night, but today we had to switch rooms.  Now the only thing I can see from the window is the parking lot...  I'll probably end up doing a lot of sketching to pass the time.  I'll scan some stuff when I get home.
